The princess sisters

By Kieran Tisdale

For my beautiful daughter Neve. May you grow up with the strength and confidence to achieve all your dreams. Love daddy x

One sunny morning, a golden letter arrived at the door. "We are invited to the Royal Princess Party tonight!" cried Neve, showing the shiny card to her little sister Avie.

The sisters ran straight to their closet, but they found a big problem. They did not have any sparkly princess dresses to wear to the ball!

Clever Neve held brave little Avie's hand tightly. "Do not worry, sister, we can trek through the woods to the village dress shop," Neve said with an infectious smile.

They skipped into the deep green woods, where a friendly squirrel chirped happily. The kind little squirrel tossed down a pinecone to show them the safest path to take.

Farther down the trail, a grumpy old badger popped out of a dark bush. He growled loudly and tried to block the sisters from passing!

Short little Avie was not scared at all. She made a silly face, puffed out her chest, and let out a funny roar that sent the badger running away.

Next, a wise old owl fluttered down from a high branch. The owl kindly guided Neve and Avie around a big, sticky mud puddle so they stayed clean.

At the end of the forest path, they finally reached the magical shop. Bright ribbons and twinkling gowns shimmered brightly in the store window!

Inside the shop, the sisters tried on silly ruffled hats and shiny slippers. Neve's hazel eyes and Avie's dark brown eyes danced with excitement as they twirled.

Neve picked a gorgeous pink dress, while Avie chose a crazy purple gown with bright yellow stars. They bought their favorite dresses and put on sparkly tiaras.

When Neve and Avie marched into the glittering palace ballroom, everyone cheered. The two sisters showed off their wild dance moves, making the whole room laugh.

At the end of the party, the king handed them a golden award. Neve and Avie were happily voted the best princesses of the whole night!
